Definitely recommending this product to my friends.
Pros:
1. GREAT SOUND! What a difference from my previous stereo.
2. USB works great. I’ve tested with an 8GB drive but it probably can handle much higher capacities.
3. Sleekness looks really good without becoming a gaudy light show.
4. Plays songs reliably from USB (other stereos randomly cut songs way short)
5. Surprise feature: Supports limited RDS. While not a feature called out, you can view text from a radio station for song title and station information. However, there are no advanced RDS features enabled (ex: can’t scan for radio stations by genre).
Cons (all minor):
1. Doesn’t ship with a faceplate case (come on Pioneer, please spring for the 60 cents of plastic).
2. No microphone mute option during a Bluetooth phone call.
3. Microphone sound quality is good but not great. If you are extra finicky you can use a different mic. I’m sticking with the factory mic.
4. Display does not alternate through Artist, Album, Song Title, etc. You have to explicitely change these yourself.
5. The manual is written so-so. There are a few things that are not explains well (ex: what is “private mode”) and sometimes it says you can “press the M.C.” and that “pushing the M.C.” also does the same thing. Overall, the manual is mostly ok.
6. When you are in Repeat:Track mode and want to jump to another track you want to repeat on, the unit changes to Repeat:Folder instead of staying in Repeat:Track mode. Seems odd to me.
7. Does not ship with a remote control (optional upgrade), but I’ve never used the remotes from my past stereos anyways.

Sound is awesome, Ipod control works great as well as the bluetooth. It synced to my iPhone perfectly. The only issue I really had with is that the main knob is too shallow so when you want to turn up or down the volume its like your pinching it and not grabbing it. Overall I am happy with it and would buy it again, the calls are clear and the sound is awesome!

This is an awesome performing stereo. The only issue is the multi control is a little too sensitive and doesn’t stick out far enough, so you sometimes don’t get the command you are after while driving.
A welcome feature which is absent on so many stereo’s these days is the good ‘ol 6 station presets across the bottom of the front panel.

I have to say that I agree with others in that this unit does not support “Audio Streaming / A2DP” over bluetooth. It also does not support iPhone voice commands unless you push and hold the home button on the phone, but because it does allows you to program speed dialing and the drawing in of the address book it makes for a ok workaround. The USB functionality with iPhone 3GS works just fine with iOS4 upgrade from Apple. And Pairing the unit to the phone was a snap compared to other head units. The sound/ phone quality is excellent, along with my Pioneer TS-A1673R 6.5in 3-Way Car Speakers working perfectly together! All in all I’m very pleased with this purchase. One more thing, Amazon states that the speakers (TS-A1673R) aren’t compatible with a Subaru 2004 Outback wagon but they fix just fine.

Purchased this product based on feature set of previous model year only to find that it was lacking some features. This unit does not support “Audio Streaming / A2DP” over bluetooth. It also does not support iPhone voice commands unless you push and hold the home button on the phone. Finally, USB functionality with iPhone 3GS stopped working with iOS4 upgrade from Apple.
This receiver sounds good but the controls and setup are not intuitive at all. Also, in agreement with others, the main control button and volume control is not very friendly to use so I will be getting a steering wheel remote. I wish I would have purchased a Kenwood at this point.
